As IPv4 was developed and the Internet explosion took place in the 1990s, Internet threats became Click to Login prolific. If the current environment of Internet threats could have been predicted when IPv4 was being developed, the protocol would have had more security measures incorporated into its design. As was the case with traditional NAT, deployment of the address translation process can be isolated to the router or firewall performing this function, avoiding the need to involve every device on the network. This mechanism
requires existing IPv4 mechanisms such as DHCPv4 or static configuration files. 6over4 is an IPv6 transition mechanism meant to transmit IPv6 packets between dual-stack nodes on top of a multicast-enabled IPv4 network. IPv4 is used as a virtual data link layer (virtual Ethernet) on which IPv6 can be run. IPv6 transition mechanisms enable communication between devices that have only IPv4 addresses and devices that have only IPv6 address. They can also enable limited IPv4 top IPv4 communication
over IPv6 only network connections. These translation mechanisms do the translation between IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. IPv6-enabled network interfaces usually have more than one IPv6 address, for example, a link-local and a global address.
